Fringing: 2019 Ultimate Upholstery Trends

One of the 2019 Ultimate Upholstery Trends is definitely the art of Fringing. This trend survived to 2018 and is ready to rock during all this new year.

A special style that traveled from Fashion to Interiors and it is now in all the modern interior design projects.

Fringes, both in fashion and at home, can take two different vibes: more sumptuous or more relaxed. Here’s a selection of fringes having in mind the type of style needed for the project:

The first identity of fringes can be called DeLuxe. A rich cascade of fringes dresses up furniture and accessories, for a distinctively sumptuous effect.

Faux fur is a man-made imitation of fur, protecting animals rights without losing high quality and a huge sense of style.  Whether it’s a short pile, long-haired and shaggy or a densely woven, faux fur is a statement and a good simulation of a fringes style on upholstery.

Fringes are also an essential ingredient of any bohemian style interior. Laid-back and somehow messy, they are an invitation to relax.

This is also a big challenge to the art of fringing – working the metal like if we were working the cotton. Making each piece look like a soft light item but in fact, is full of heavy materials combined with velvet.

This year, we’re expecting to see fringes used in pillows, lamps, upholstery and even as a maximalism sign, incorporated in furniture items. From dainty, bell-like tassels to relaxed, boho leather threads, fringe is back and flowing as free as ever.
